Amidst all the social turmoil and brouhaha of national political campaigns, each home has its private sorrow. The Ohio and Molino Avenue junctions with Sixth Street in Long Beach include a set of neighbors that have gotten to know each other over the past two decades. Almost all of us have and have had animals as part of our extended families. The passing of one of our companions is a poignant moment of tender reflection for all us living in this section of South Rose Park.
Today I want to pay homage to Pepper, who always made us smile a little more emphatically when we encountered him as he walked with Barry and Betsy.
Thank you, Pepper, for being part of our lives.
