David Garyan began editing a series of installments in INTERLITQ magazine about a year and a half ago that featured a selection of California-based poets. The majority of the poets he focused on have primarily resided in Southern California. Garyan has followed up on his on-line anthology by conductive a series of interviews with some of the most prominent of these poets, including current Los Angeles Poetry Laureate Lynne Thompson. The interview with me is now posted, and joins the company of some of my favorite poets in this region: Clint Margrave, Suzanne Lummis, Harry Northup, Ron Koertge, and Alexis Rhone Fancher.
In addition, by the way, to being the current poet laurete of Los Angeles, Thompson is also serving as co-editor of Spillway magazine. The most recent issue, number 29, features poems by Alexis Rhone Fancher, Suzanne Lummis, Clint Margrave, Jan Wesley, Susan Terris, Lee Rossi, Ann Keniston, Kimberly Esslinger, and Jeffrey Alfier. The upcoming submission period begins on January 1st and runs through March 31st. Details at www.tebotbach.org.
