David Lau, whose first book of poems “Virgil and the Mountain Cat” came out in 2009, wrote a review of “Holdouts: The Los Angeles Poetry Renaissance” which I was not aware of until I happened to come across it by chance. Lau’s title fits perfectly into an article I wrote recently for a book of essays on bohemia in Los Angeles that Jay Ruby is putting together.
